Azni bin Said. Goodbye my friend

Salam.

At 4 pm I received a SMS from my former school mate in KSAH.
A friend, Azni bin Said passed away due to Diabetic complications.

Arwah Azni was a jovial chap.He was in the College band. He was liked by many for he had a radiant smile on his chubby face. He was a non-hostelite but was liked by us hostelites.

I last met him in 1984 when I did my elective posting at Hospital Alor Setar's Skin Clinic.
He was with the Kedah State Library.

May ALLAH AzzaWa Jalla forgives his mistakes and ours too.
May he be included in the group that will receive syafa'at by Rasulullah SAW and be a member of Jannah. Ameen.

Goodbye my dear friend.
Al Fatihah for you.
Salam to all.

"The Malaysian govt has removed-with immediate effect-the 30% bumiputra equity requirement for 27 services sub-sectors under liberation of the service sector."
~ taken from Star page 1 23 April 2009.

I know this piece of news will receive a lot of contrasting responses. Some will welcome it. Some will disagree outrightly. Some will say: Errr.........depends on how you look at it.

Nothing out-of-the-ordinary about that,right?

But there is something fishy regarding this statement. No,its not the content but the so called expected responses. The knee jerk reactions of certain quarters or groups with their pure Malay blood and Malay angst if the 'previleges' of Malay or Bumiputra are 'disturbed'.

We have seen many times before whenever a Malay or Bumi interests are taken away or altered or shelled we see certain Youth Front will become the champions for the Malays/Bumi. And sometimes with a kris in hand. Thats Pemuda UMNO for you.

But for this 30% removal as announced by PM Najib, was there any Pemuda UMNO demonstration? Or Prowaris? Or Pekida? Or some any 'very Malay' NGO which if this sort of announcement were made by DAP or PAS , they will be the first to oppose and reject and demand the privileges instate back immediately.

Okay I'm gonna give Pemuda and Prowaris and Pekida and whatever NGO out there my benefit of doubt. I'm gonna assume they haven't heard the news or they haven't read the papers.

Am I instigating something along the racial line here? No.What I want to highlight is: If the same issue was made by the opposition we know what to expect from Pemuda or Prowaris or Pekida or whatever ultra Malay NGOs out there.

The same thing goes to those Youth in PAS or PKR or DAP.

But from my observations this far, all these Youth wings are twins of different mothers. They react in the same way.

Banking scams: BEWARE

Message from Bank Negara Malaysia: Beware of scams using SMS, emails or telephone calls.Protect your personal banking information.

The statement was the sms that I got from Maxis this morning. And I'm not suprised.
We've read or heard friends telling us about such scams. But this is the first time the mobile operator cautioned me about such scams.

Its all too familiar to us. Mrs TA gets this type of irritating calls very often. Telling us they are from such and such bank and would like to confirm the account numbers and what nots.

Mrs TA once called Maybank and told them about such calls which were mainly made through a mobile phone.

This is what we got from Maybank:
Maybank will never make any call requesting personal banking informations. Maybank will not use a mobile number but a fixed landline. For any banking information Maybank will send out letters or will ask customers to go to the nearest branch.

And Mrs TA still gets those unwarranted irritating calls. And my guess is there are thousands out there facing the same problem.

What can we do about these scams? Some will just ignore it.Some might get abusive and starts their verbal diarrhoea to those moronic callers who most likely will make funny faces while you shoots off your ' kata-kata lahanat'. Some might fall into the trick and finds their savings empty or their credit cards being used in some places like Timbuktu or Ulan Bator or Symrna or Fethiye which was formerly Telmessos.

But does anyone ever make a police report about it? I did contemplate about it once. But I didn't make any police report.

Anyway folks, do be careful.
Have a nice day.

Melayu Mudah Lupa : UMNO= rasuah politik wang

Salam buat semua.

Dah lama aku tak ulas perkembangan politik tanahair.
