By now, most of us would have known that Malek Husin of ex-PAS, Ex-UMNO and KeAdilan member who was detained under ISA in 1998 had won his case in the High Court. And he had become and instant millionaire when the court awarded him RM 2,5 million in damages. Alhamdulillah.
Yes ,Malek got a huge sum for the unlawful detention by using the draconian ISA act. But to me its not the amount awarded that matters. The important thing is Malek won the case. It never happened before.
Hopefully, the ISA will be a thing of the past( I say hopefully).
Will Malek's win open the floodgate of more ligitation procedures against the Police and Government and Home Ministry? If that does happen, the Jabatan Peguam Negara will have their hands full.
Congratulation to Malek.Congratulation to Hakim Hishamudin Mohd Yunus for the brave decision you made.
Its time to say goodbye to ISA.
