Epilog cinta....

Epilog Cinta dari Bromley....in the early 80s this song was the most beautiful love song ever written by a local singer. And nobody can sing it like Sohaimi sang. His rich 'jantan' voice hauntinh us with Epilog Cinta dari Bromley, Sedari Dulu and Misteri Cinta.

He wrote all his songs. And the 3 albums he had in the 80s had the Imam brothers touch in arrangement and production.

Suddenly Sohaimi Mior Hassan went missing. I think its due to his work commitments with the Navy( Pak Zabs mungkin lebih kenal Sohaimi kot?). In the mid 90s, I heard Sohaimi signed a recording contract with M.Nasir's Luncai Emas but unfortunately nothing materialised.

Now Sohaimi will haunt us again. He just came up with a brand new albmu: SUATU HARI NANTI.

I just got it yesterday from the record shop and since last night had listened to the entire album 5 times non-stop. Yes, the jantan voice is still there. The songs are still close to Sohaimi's heart and plus a few political songs thrown in. This time around his younger brother Meor Yusof Aizuddin( also an independent recording artiste) and Ariff. The arrangement is minimal and very acoustic in nature. This time they uses the seruling to good effect( what do we expect from Mohar if not his best). This is one of the good albums that had been produced in the past 3 years.

You will not like it instantly( like say Anuar Zain's or Siti Nurhaliza's or Ferhad's or Mawi's). But the songs will grow on you after your second listening. I'm gonna rip this album and transfer the songs into my handphone for my hari raya listening.

In the meantime...why not bring back the memories of Epilog Cinta dari Bromley...
