Brazilain percussionist. First heard him in 1981 by Zain Azlan(Shah's VI schoolmate).Fell in love with the album. Bought the cassette. Few years later a music shop in Campbell had a 'close down' sale and I got this album(vinyl record) with Dee Bridgewater and David Sanborn at a very cheap price. Still have those albums but unable to play them. My turntable kaput-ed.
Few days ago, found this song on You tube. Wanted to share this with you guys esp Pak Mat Salo and Shah. Have a nice day folks.
David Sanborn. My favourite alto saxaphonist. Again Abdul Hamed Samad's review and the then radio Ibukota introduced his music to me. Till this day, Sanborn is the best alto sax cats as far as I'm concern. Kenny G? Yelch!!
Here I offer you to listen to the melancholic The Dream and the funky SLAM.
Sanborn!Sanborn!Sanborn!
The Dream- David Sanborn

Another folk singer-songwriter that I like is Harry Chapin, esp. his Cats in the Cradle which was also covered by other superstars.
And another genre which I fell in love was Jazz(fusion) introduced by my city friends Zain Azlan and Raja Amin( heart surgeon in Pantai Puteri JB) and those reviewed by Abdul Hamed Samad( yes, the brother of Kak Ena and Tok Mommy).
Hope you will enjoy these songs.

This entry is dedicated to bro Matsaloand all jazz fans out there.
Birdland. One of the best songs ever written in jazz history( bro Matsalo can vouch for that). Written by the late Joe Zawinul and recorded by Weather Report with Jaco Pastorious and his magnificent bass licks and stomps.I can never have enough of Birdland. But my first encounter with Birdland was not by Weather Report but by Maynard Ferguson(jazz trumpeteer) and later by the jazz quartet Manhattan Transfer. It was only later that I listen to the original Birdland by WR. It doesn't matter who performed Birdland. The song is just...mindblowing.
