Persona non grata( unacceptable person or personally unacceptable or unwelcome),
Baru semalam aku selesai menonton filem Melayu bertajuk Persona non grata.It was directed by Syed Azidi AlBukhary aka known in blogsphere as Sheih.
It starred 2 talented actors Hans Isaac( his best performance so far) and the Erra Fazira.
It tells a story about Ben who escaped to Thailand after he and his brothers double-crossed some notorious drug dealers in Malaysia. In Thailand he continued to be a crook, this time stealing cars in Bangkok. It also tell us about Hey/Sya who had amnesia after been knocked down by a car while in Bangkok to 'merawat luka di hati".
Ben sort of 'rescued' Hey/Sya and along the way love bloomed.
Persona non grata is a love story but on screen it was not the typical malay love story movie whichusually are very jiwang-jiwang. Persona non grata is slightly different( maybe thats the reason it didn't do well in the cinemas).It didn't take the popular approached with 'tangkap lentok' dialogues and 'tangkap leleh' songs.
I like the shots taken especially the opening scene and the scenes over the canals.
Hans Isaac gave a powerful performance. Erra is still Erra lah....boleh lah....
Congratulation to Syed Azidi. I think you should do more movies. But I'm not sure any producer have the guts to employ you now( depa mesti takut kena GAM).For me you are in the same league with Nasir Jani.Berani dan digeruni.

ooooohhhh...depa berlakun berdua no?? patutlah haritu keluaq kat paper, the actor hadiah kat the actress a very expensive watch for her birthday. hmmm... let's wait & see what develops.
Ibu: after watching PNG my wife told me HI gave a Rolex to EF.I do not know how much a Rolex cost ibu.But my wife said its very expensive.
Now why would someone give something very expensive to someone else if there is nothing btwn them? Maybe HI is a very generous guy.Maybe he'll give Afdlin a Rolex too.Maybe he will give sheih a Rolex too(hopefully its not made in Bangkok Rolex)
mamat...hang minat juga cerita meleleh..tangkap lentok macam ni...Ingat ke minat dgn Jet lee dan Jackie Chan je...
Aku minat juga cerita macam ni...yang tak meleleh dan lentok sangat..yang baik cinematografinya..tekniknya...dan lakonan yang tak kaku dan mentah...editing yang cantik dan sound yang ok...
Indonesia film so much advance compare dgn Malaysia..

Mamat: cerita mcm ni kdg2 aku tgk juga. PNG ni aku tgk sebab pengarah lain dr yg biasa-biasa.Betul PNG is a bit different cara penceritaannya walau cerita dia biasa saja. The angles dan lighting yg dia guna is very nice. And he is fellow blogger kickdefella.
La ni aku tgk juga gambag Cina mamat.Baru2 ni aku beli vcd gambar yg Ti Lung dan Fu Sheng main dekat 10 keping.Semua gambag kungfu 70'an.Bila tgk balik depa lawan macam berlakun saja(memang la depa belakun pun)tak nampak real mcm Jet Lee punya. Satu lagi la ni aku suka tgk gambar cina yg triad punya.Mcm Internal Affairs, Election( part 1&2).
Hang kalu dapat tgk Kill Bill(pt1 &2) arahan Quentin Tarantino.Best mamat.tapi kena cari dvd la.
