14th January 1991(Monday) at 7.10 am you were scooped out of Mama's womb by Dr Tey and his assistant Dr Norlida Khairon during the Ceasarean section. Dr Fauziah the paediatric medical officer and Staff Nurse Liew were there to receive you and they hurriedly did suction on you. The reflex of that you gave a huge cry.Your first cry to the world. After cleaning and wrapping you up Mama Liew gave you back to me to perform the Azan and Iqamah. Then I read Ayatul Kursi and al-Ikhlas,al-Falaq and al-Nas.
We were filled with joy . Atok and Nenek were elated(nenek especially). Tokwan and Tok had arrived from Taiping to welcome the first grandson of both families. All the relatives were informed and all your uncles and aunts were proud to become uncles and aunties. You brightened our lives.
Son, when you were born Melaka and the world were facing lots of crisis. Melaka had its water crisis. A month before you were born, suddenly all the taps in Melaka were dry! Everyone had to dig a well in their backyards( we had one at Atok's house). The govt took water from lakes and ponds all over Melaka. The Melaka dam was dry!Melaka Hospital was hardest hit. Whenever I had to do the emergency C-section we had to scrub with water taken from lakes with lots pf debri and dirt. Luckily our final rinse was with Normal Saline.(That is the reason your Mama had high spiking fever post partum.
A day before you were born, President Bush Sr sent in his Army to invade Iraq for the first time. The rest of it was history. And you know that now his son(President Bush Jr.) did the same.
You were easy to take care of. Your night feeding was between 2-3 am. I and your Mama took turns to make the bottle. Sometimes you had difficulty to sleep. We had to drive you around Bandar Melaka to make you sleepy.
Your first word suprised us. we were watching TV when a lizard(cicak) crawled on the ceiling. You said " CIDAK!". We were overjoyed. Your other milestones were like any other kids.
Hafiz, in life you have to work hard to achieve your goals. There is no easy way or any shortcuts to be successful in life. Me and Mama will always be there to guide and support you. You can count on that.
Son, I'll let you decide what you want to do professionally. My only request is: Be a good Mukmin. Follow the Quran and Sunnah of Rasulullah s.a.w. as close as possible.Be good to your Mama. Be good to your Atok,Nenek and Tok Hawa. Be good to those who helped you and to those who needed help from you. And please make doa for Mama and Ayah during your solat, especially when we are no more here.
ALLAHumma barik fi to you my son.
Love always from Ayah

Happy Birthday Hafiz. Sham, he is a splitting image of you. He is you, your younger version. More handsome than daddy though..Anyway, insyaalah, he will grow up to be a good & taqwa person. Regards. Munzar
Happy Birthday Hafiz,
You are a splitting image of your father when I first I get to know him.Of course you are the more handsome version. It is just like a car produced by BMW ,they came out with a new model every year...the old version though old can be class as classic .
Mine is the production of one year earlier than your dad ,but automatic window konked out on the first year.
Happy Birthday again Hafiz...i got 4 daughters heheh
Munzar and Mr Clark Gable:
Thank you for the wishes. I don't know wether Hafiz had visited my blog but for the record in my own humble opinion( hehehe...) both father and son are handsome but the father was more good looking then( ewah2 masuk bakul angkat sendiri ni)and macho.
CG, anak ko yg sulong tu dah tak boleh aku masuk meminang utk Hafiz. She might find someone in Kangarooland you know. Yang lain tu ada peluang jadi menantu aku( kau sanggup ke jadi besan aku??Kah3)
What a lovely son you have: may Allah bless him with knowledge and iman. I enjoyed those pics you have on your blog. Best wishes to you and family.
Dear tokasid,
I chanced into your blog and am delighted to know you are an ex-Taiping brother too !
Yes and on your profile you say you were an Edwardian, and I was SGI, but nevermind, 'kita satu kampong'.
What caught my eye was your mention of the cendol and gandum stall beside Bismillah Restuarant near the clock tower on Main Road junction, near the market.
Man, I did post about Taiping and that used to be my favorite, why, that was everyone favourite in fact that was the best cendol and gandom stall in the whole world !Is he still there ?
Thanks for reminding me, and by the way say "Happy Birthday" to Hafiz. Do you have a doubt... all Taipingians are good lookinglah... heh...heh..!
Cheers bro !!
happy belated birthday hafiz! anak kak teh yang sulong pun nama hafiz.
Awang Goneng: TQ sir for visiting and wishing Hafiz.
InsyaALLAH if he remembers his roots and the purpose of being here, he will be alright. And I really enjoy reading your entries esp about Trengganu( the kisah2 lama). My wife likes the Trengganuspeak that you wrote.
Shanghaistephen: TQ bro for visiting. You from Taiping? Which part? My familly stays in Kpg Pinang Kamunting. I was in KE 2 infront of the old Rest House( now KE-2 is in Lake Garden).
I had 4 brothers who went to SGI( the tigers used to call SGI 'Gorgy porgie' right?)
The cendol and pasembor pics I took was actually the same owner near Bismillah restaurant. The moved a bolck away and its now nearer to SGI(by the way there a new cendol stall behind SGI secondary now).
I will visit your blog soon. Thanks Bro
Kak teh: TQ. Taufik dah balik dak lagi?? nak dengar cerita ceriti dia di Rombau and Jasin laa...
